A ReVision Update

In the United States we are in the midst of one of the most important political seasons in recent memory, and it’s clear to me that many Christians are not prepared.

The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD,
Like the rivers of water;
He turns it wherever He wishes.
Proverbs 21.1

Dear ReVision Team:

In the United States we are in the midst of one of the most important political seasons in recent memory, and it’s clear to me that many Christians are not prepared.

Uninformed, reactionary, misguided, pragmatic – these are the words that come to my mind as I listen to Christians talking about what America needs in the way of new leaders at this time.

Which is why I’ve decided to postpone a planned ReVision series in order to run a five-part series on God and government entitled The King’s Heart.

Civil governments wield great power. But how does their use of power fit into the overall plan of God? What is the role of the Church in that powerful economy? And how can individual believers influence and shape the way civil governments wield their God-given powers?

We begin this series today, with our series entitled, Two Swords. In this series I’ll provide an overview of how God sovereignly rules the world and how governments, churches, and believers fit into that framework.

I need your help to get the word out about this series, and the four that will follow it, so that we can encourage and equip our fellow believers for responsible political involvement at this time.

Here’s what you can do:

First, study each installment in this series carefully. Download Two Swords today and work through all the readings, questions, and exercises, to make sure you are properly oriented to this challenge and calling.

Second, make a few copies of Two Swords and give them to some friends. Challenge them to join you in working through this and subsequent studies in the series, The King’s Heart.

Third, send the link to today’s ReVision to as many people as you can, encouraging them to get in on this five-part series from the very beginning.

Finally, consider giving a gift to The Fellowship of Ailbe at this time. The Lord intends to support this ministry from out of the ranks of those who benefit from it. If that includes you, I would ask you prayerfully to consider giving to The Fellowship of Ailbe at this time, when our need is urgent, and God is diligently searching out those He will enlist to help us.

It’s easy to give to The Fellowship of Ailbe, and all gifts are, of course, tax-deductible. You can click here to donate online through credit card or PayPal, or send your gift to The Fellowship of Ailbe, 19 Tyler Dr., Essex Junction, VT 05452.

Thanks for considering this opportunity and challenge. Join me in praying that God will bless all these opportunities to bring His blessings to our nation through our common ministry.

For Christ and His Kingdom.
