The meaning of Blessed is changing; the meaning of Savior is changing; the meaning of Saved is too.

His students are not ready, and time is running short.

The disciples want to argue about who is the greatest.

The disciples will connect the dots later, when they're emotionally ready.

You can’t grow great faith without sticking your neck out.

At least they wake up.

This is about the kingdom, not the second coming.

The thing that kills prayers is pretending to be perfect.

People are scared or even offended by Jesus’s power. He keeps who He is a secret, while doing things that, in retrospect, will make it obvious. This is all part of preparing his disciples for what’s coming. Some of the events are actually clever exercises for them.

For now, supper will do.
