And after there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, "Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe.

The Gentiles heard the word of the gospel and believed. Peter, Paul, and Barnabas related the signs and wonders that had accompanied the hearing of the Word. Can you imagine the reaction of the assembled believers? What an awestruck gathering this must have been. Do we have the same sense of awe as we read a report in Voice of the Martyrs about the advance of the faith in some far off land? Or the work of church planters in our own country? We should be rejoicing.
