Voices Together

John 4:21-24

Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God isSpirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

This is the Day the Lord has set aside for a Day of Worship and Rest, a Sabbath Day. But I am called each day into a day of worship, a day which is to be in spirit and truth. The difference between the Lord's Day and every other day is that I am to separate myself from my workday activities and devote that time to resting in the Lord and worshiping Him. The workday is to glorify and honor Him in every word, in every deed; the Lord's Day is to glorify and honor Him in the presence of the saints gathered around Him.
