Let us, therefore, strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
The writer of Hebrews stresses over and over that there is a close relationship between the verbs "to have faith/believe/trust/commit/obey." Here he points out that there is no fooling the LORD, God the Almighty. The most secret thoughts and intentions of my heart are a blazing beacon to Him. There is NO getting away with it in the Kingdom of Heaven, whether in Heaven or on earth.
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Thy will be done in me in the here and now as it will be in Heaven for all eternity.
