Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son.

This passage begins with a very interesting sentence. The witness (other translations) is in me; the evidence that the belief cycle is active and effective in my life. The righteousness, peace, and joy, to the extent that it characterizes my life, is the witness. The compulsion to know the LORD, God, the Almighty more deeply is the witness. The desire to live according to His Law is the witness. The transformation that has taken place in my life is the witness. I am the witness and am continuously growing into that witness in all aspects of my life.
