Voices Together

Deuteronomy 6:13-15

It is the LORD your God you shall fear. Him you shall serve and by his name you shall swear. You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are around you—for the LORD your God in your midst is a jealous God—lest the anger of the LORD your God be kindled against you, and he destroy you from off the face of the earth.

These are some warnings regarding the fear of the LORD, some actions and attitudes that must be avoided or His righteous, just and holy anger will be roused. His jealousy will be exhibited if we refuse to serve Him, or use His name in vain. He will not tolerate allegiance to other gods in any form.

We should be thankful thatthe LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God. Deuteronomy 4:24 It is a visible demonstration of His love for His creation, the love that led to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for our sins.
