2 Kings 6:15-17

When the servant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. And the servant said, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

A huge part of the Fear of God is trusting in Him in ALL things. As Dallas Willard was fond of saying, “How can you trust the LORD for your eternal salvation if you are unwilling to trust Him for your lunchtime sandwich?”

Why is it that I refuse to believe that I am surrounded by a myriad of horses and chariots of fire? How many deadbolts, combination locks and key-sets on my front door does it take to provide the safety of a single myriad? I am called to trust Him in ALL things. Why do I insist on rewriting Romans 8:28; there is an ALLthings, not some things.

Today's readings in the Psalms:

Morning: Psalm 142

Mid-day: 119:73-80

Evening: Psalm 67
