I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation and the kingdom and the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet.
My immediate thought was "Wow, to be in the Spirit on the Lord's Day." But should that not be my goal each Lord's Day; to spend the day in the Spirit? A day spent from can to can't as the old saying goes, in the Spirit. A day of worship, a day of prayer and fellowship with other saints, a day of refreshment and renewal, a day of observing and guarding the day set aside by the LORD, God, the Almighty. Help me, Holy Spirit so that I too may hear that loud voice like a trumpet.
Today's readings in the Psalms:
Morning: Psalm 76
Mid-day: 119:1-8
Evening: Psalm 2
