Isaiah said to them, “Say to your master, ‘Thus says the LORD: Do not be afraid because of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have reviled me.
I will frequently hear the argument from a professed believer that they cannot accept that the Fear of the LORD, God, the Almighty indeed includes being afraid of Him. He is a loving god, who wouldn't do anything to harm someone whom he loves. I know that there are individuals in this person's life of whom he is terrified; this person can ruin his career or home life or ... with the flick of a finger or the lifting of an eyebrow. The Creator of all things, the One who is in control of all things the one of whom the Scriptures say, "for our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:29, should not terrify me if I disobey His Word?
