To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.
The Pure vs the Defiled. The key to understanding this passage is in the last sentence. Our ears should perk up, our attention focused when someone claims to be a Christian but whose conversation tends to be a listing of the Bible's errors. Often it becomes a litany of all the ways they are smarter than the LORD, God, the Almighty.
Do not get hooked into fellowship with such an individual; their candy has an attractive wrapping but the contents are foul and fatal.
