Deal bountifully with Your servant Psalms 119:17-24

Deal bountifully with Your servant ,That I may live and keep Your word. Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous things from Your law.

I am a stranger in the earth; Do not hide Your commandments from me. My soul breaks with longing For Your judgments at all times.

You rebuke the proud—the cursed, Who stray from Your commandments. Remove from me reproach and contempt, For I have kept Your testimonies.

Princes also sit and speak against me, But Your servant meditates on Your statutes. Your testimonies also are my delight And my counselors.

The Scribe of the 119th recognizes that it is his familiarity with the Word of God is the bulwark that stands between him and the loss of his ability to worship the LORD, God, the Almighty in spirit and in truth.

Look at all the ways that he pleads for the Word to be opened to him. Every paragraph has one or more pleas. Deal bountifully, open my eyes, I'm a stranger, don't hide Your commandments, my soul longs, the cursed stray but I keep Your testimonies, I meditate on your statutes, they are my delight and my counselors.

Shouldn't I plead likewise for understanding with the Word of God?
