Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry, when he heard their cry: And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies. He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.
Time after time after time, the Israelites turned back to the LORD, repented of their rejection of Him and swore fealty to the LORD, God, the Almighty. And He forgave them. What a gracious God they (and we) serve. The sentence that strikes me is the last one. Their oppressors were included in the remorse.
