Zayin Remember your word to your servant, in which you have made me hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life. The insolent utterly deride me, but I do not turn away from your law. When I think of your rules from of old, I take comfort, O LORD. Hot indignation seizes me because of the wicked, who forsake your law. Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my sojourning. I remember your name in the night, O LORD, and keep your law. This blessing has fallen to me, that I have kept your precepts.

This stanza helps me fix my attention on a steadfast reliance upon Word of the LORD, God, the Almighty as I seek to apply it to every aspect of my life. There is no part of my life, or those that I am responsible for, that is not covered by this directive. I must serve as the bulwark against frontal attack by the Evil One as well as those whose sneak attacks by his minions serve to divert my attention.

Not just through the efforts of me alone, but through Betty and I as a union of one being before the LORD. That unity that our marriage reflects must govern our life before the world.

Morning Psalm 86 , Noon Psalm 119:9-16 , Evening Psalm 18, If you follow this regimen, you will pray through the Psalms every 47 days or just under 8 times per year.

An alternate Reading Plan is based on 7 chapters/day from 7 sections of the Scriptures. My groupings are: Genesis-Joshua, Judges to Esther, Job to Song of Solomon, Psalms breaking 119 into convenient sets, Isaiah to Malachi, Matthew to Acts, Romans to Revelation.

Or set your own reading schedule up in convenient groupings as fits your study habits. But a daily time in the Word of the LORD is an absolute.
