Clearly, God's promise to give the whole earth to Abraham and his descendants was based not on his obedience to God's law, but on a right relationship with God that comes by faith.

"Faith is a grace that of all others gives glory to God." Matthew Henry, A Concise Commentary. Isn't this interesting? Paul emphasizes that it is our faith (total trust) that brings us into a right relationship with God and Matthew Henry points out that it is our faith that glorifies God; glorifies Him above all other expressions of grace.

So if I totally trust Him to lead me into the path of righteousness, totally depend upon Him to provide, totally rely upon Him to guide me into opportunities to proclaim the Good News, i. e. totally look to Him for all things, I am glorifying the LORD, God the Almighty.
