Psalm 115:1-3

Psalm 115:1-3

Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness! Why should the nations say, "Where is their God?" Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases.

Great as in without peer! I sing, “Great is Thy Faithfulness/there is no shadow of turning with Thee/Thou changes not/thy mercies, they fail not..” Nowhere, never, is there another god of whom that can be sung. You are the God of steadfast love.

1 John 5:20-21

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols.

The Presence in me and for me. The Gift of Understanding I know Him and I know He is in me. And I recognize idols.

Psalm 119:102

I do not turn aside from your rules, for you have taught me.

I wish! I hunger for these statements to be true. Lord, when will I become so one with You that Your Word is my meditation all day long? I know that Your Instructions are always with me, but I don't always listen.

I do have more understanding than all the influences of the world -- when I meditate upon and consider Your testimonies. I do see the pitfalls of the age-old wisdom of the culture when measured against Your Wisdom -- if I do so!

Your Rules are my guide, they place my feet securely upon Your Path, they keep me from stumbling into evil and re-offending. You are ever at my side.

Psalm 114:3-8

Psalm 114:3-8

The sea looked and fled; Jordan turned back. The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs. What ails you, O sea, that you flee? O Jordan, that you turn back? O mountains, that you skip like rams? O hills, like lambs? Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, who turns the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a spring of water.

Lord, You called me out of the cesspool of my life into Your glorious presence and infused me with Your Holy Spirit. Day by day, minute by minute, You draw me closer to You, using me and the story of my transformation to advance the Kingdom and to draw others into Your sheepfold. Praise You, my Lord, my Master, my Redeemer, my Brother.

Psalm 114:1-2

When Israel went out from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language, Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.

Your Presence is with me; Your Presence is embodied with me as Your Holy Spirit; Your Presence is continuously transforming and mold me into Your image. I am becoming equipped to serve as Your Ambassador of Reconciliation. Praise and thanksgiving to You, my Lord and Master.

Psalm 113:5-9

Psalm 113:5-9

Who is like the LORD our God, who is seated on high, (6) who looks far down on the heavens and the earth? He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap, to make them sit with princes, with the princes of his people. He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the LORD!

Lord , You come to me in my weaknesses not in my strengths. It is where I am poor and needy, not those areas where I think I am self-sufficient. It is where I know I am poor and needy. So Lord, reveal my weaknesses, show me that my self-named strengths are but broken reeds in Your Kingdom and of no value in the advancement of the Kingdom. Lift me up, Lord, in Your love and graciousness, bring me into Your presence.

Praise the LORD! Praise, O servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD! Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and forevermore! From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the LORD is to be praised! The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens!

Praise the Savior, ye who know Him/ who can tell how much we owe Him/ gladly let us render to Him/ all we have and are.

Lord, the old hymn remains true and faithful to Your word, guide me today as I seek to render everything to You.

Psalm 112:9-10

Psalm 112:9-10

He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn is exalted in honor. The wicked man sees it and is angry; he gnashes his teeth and melts away; the desire of the wicked will perish!

You have called Betty and I into a ministry to the lost and the lonely, to carry Your message of love and forgiveness to them in many forms. We go as seekers, sowers, shepherds, servants, and stewards in Your Name and in Your Power. We go to raise You up so that all men may see and believe. We go to make disciples and to equip them to become disciple-makers. Lead us in this task, Lord.

Psalm 112:3-8

Psalm 112:3-8

Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous. It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice. For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD. His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.

Lord, looking back, on this the 5th anniversary of our prison ministry, I rejoice that You have used us to advance the Kingdom and bring the Light into so many dark places. You have poured Your blessings upon us, You have drawn Betty and I closer to You, You have met our needs, You have given us Your peace, we are filled with Your joy, and thank You for all that we have and are.

Psalm 119:92

If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.

This is the crux of my survival, to delight in Your law. To spend each day meditating on Your law and its preeminent place in my life: its role as the definition of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Psalm 112:1-2

Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commandments! His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.

Your blessings, spiritual and material, are as a downpour over me. You have drawn me into Your Kingdom through Your grace and mercy; I am redeemed through the blood of the Cross; You have set my feet upon a level path; You have sent the Comforter to lead me into all truth; You have surrounded me with a rich bevy of companions in the faith; You fill me with understanding; You have called me to be Your Ambassador of Reconciliation; You have provided a flock to shepherd; You have named me, “Child of God.” Your Name is to be lifted up and praised for ever and ever.

Galatians 6:1-10

Galatians 6:1-10

Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. For each will have to bear his own load. One who is taught the word must share all good things with the one who teaches. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

“Bear one another's burdens” and “For each must bear his own load” Interesting! Are You telling me that while I must be willing and supportive I cannot assume responsibility for another's burdens? The only one who can truly lift each burden from each of us is You. You take the heavy burden and replace it with the light burden of life in Your Kingdom.
