Psalm 145:4-7

On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds, and I will declare your greatness. They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.

Help me, Lord, to see the splendor of your majesty and to see your awesome deeds and to hear that fame of your goodness so that I might sing aloud of your righteousness. let me be a herald of your goodness and a crier of your coming.

Psalm 145:8-9

The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. The LORD is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made.

How can I understand your patience, your willingness to let me fail to obey you and to give me another opportunity to be obedient to you? You stand between me and the foulness of my deeds, not striking me down as I deserve. Your love and your mercy are a shield about me in spite of myself.

Psalm 145:10-13

All your works shall give thanks to you, O LORD, and all your saints shall bless you! They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom and tell of your power, to make known to the children of man your mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. (The LORD is faithful in all his words and kind in all his works.)

Lord, that I would come to realize that my only purpose is to make you known to the children of men, to my children and to all children. Lord, fill me with a burning desire to speak of you mighty deeds and the splendor of life in your kingdom. How can I tell of your faithfulness?

Psalm 145:14-16

The LORD upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season. You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing.

There is nothing that I lack, Lord, that you will not provide. You will lift me in in my times of depression, you will supply all that I need.

Lord, I lift up to you those men who were with us last night, that you will give them an understanding of the rightness of this passage. I think of one man, desperate to get release, but one problem after another preventing him from his desire. Please help him to see that it is in your hands, that you have a plan for him that includes release from the bondage of alcohol and includes a life of dependance on you. And not only for him, but all the others there last night.

Psalm 145:17-21

The LORD is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works. The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them. The LORD preserves all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. My mouth will speak the praise of the LORD, and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.

I guess what I am praying is that this will be made known to all those there last night. And to those who normally join us in worship but were missing, where ever they were, Lord, protect them and give them your joy.

Lord, only through the strength and wisdom that you supply, will this be a day spent praising your holy name.

Psalm 119:91

By your appointment they stand this day, for all things are your servants.

"All things are your servants." "All things" "All" Totally inclusive, no exceptions, ALL. Every aspect of the creation is intended to serve You, to meet Your purposes and to glorify Your name. Nothing is left out. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. Gen 1:31a Very good in God's eyes. And the coming of the Kingdom will restore ALL to that state of pristine beauty and utility.

Psalm 146:1-2

Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul! I will praise the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

Lord, let every moment of every day of my life, be spent in praising you. As long as you give me sentience, let my consuming passion be to sing your praises.

Help me, Lord, to grow closer to you, to learn to know you more, to grow in relationship to you, so that I can come to this point where all my day is spent in praising you.

Psalm 146:3

Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.

Lord, I do put my trust in men, teach me to remember that this cannot be. I can only rely on you; you are the one True One, the one who is always faithful. I am thinking of DOC and the many times they have broken a word; Lord, let me not be disappointed for they are not you. Cause me to remember, always, that you set the times and the places and that it is you who allow and move.

Psalm 146:4

When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish.

Thank you, Lord, for the young man who plows our driveway. Bless him, bless his family. Bring him to know that you are the one who heals and brings joy.

Man and all that pertains to him is temporal. There is no permanence, nothing which will last beyond the days appointed.

Psalm 146:5-8

Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets the prisoners free; the LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD lifts up those who are bowed down; the LORD loves the righteous.

Lord, one of the men in the prison comes to mind, you are setting him free from alcohol and opening his eyes to your salvation. Thank you, Lord, that he is starting to see that he needs you, he cannot depend upon the promises of man's program to keep him whole and healthy. Thank you, Lord that you will provide a place for him to live and food for him to eat. Thank you, Lord, that you are filling him with your peace, that in you, his head will no longer be bowed down.

Lord, at the same time, I pray for others who are struggling to find your peace, others whom you are leading thorough the Slough of Despond. There is one facing the remainder of his life in prison, so many others with uncertainty in their sentences, fill them with the peace that passes all understanding.

Psalm 146:9-10

The LORD watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. The LORD will reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the LORD!

Lord, thank you for watching over those who are passing through the prison system, temporarily in our ministry, sojourners in our company. My prayer is that Your reign will be evident to all within all the facilities of the Vermont Department of Corrections.

Psalm 119:98

Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me.

Your commandments give me the wisdom and strength to resist my enemies, to stand against those attacks of the Evil One that he would use to weaken my relationship with You. But I do need to press on with the goal of being constantly in Your word, seeking to have Your word at the forefront of my mind night and day. How can I be prepared for battle if I am not wearing the armor? Guide me and teach me, my Lord and my Master.
