The Law and Sin

There is no Good News with the Bad, and no Bad without the Law.

Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Romans 3.20

People will not embrace the Gospel who see no need of it. The primary reason people need the Gospel is to free them from their bondage to sin. But how can we convince people of their sin if we do not expose them to the Law of God? The neglect of the Law on the part of believers today is a source of great damage to the cause of the Kingdom.

We must resume teaching and obeying the Law, not unto salvation, but because the Law exposes sin (Rom. 7.7), and we are a people who have been saved unto good works. Any refusal to return to the Law and to delight in, love, and walk in it is simply not consistent with the way of Jesus and His Kingdom (Matt. 5.17-19; 1 Jn. 2.1-6).
