A PRAYER FOR LENT

Infinite and eternal God,
You are immeasurable in your greatness, boundless in your power, and endlessly prodigal in your love.
We come in prayer seeking a fresh reminder of the good news our Lord Jesus was anointed to preach.
We come in prayer seeking fresh freedom from the things that bind us that our Lord Jesus was anointed to bring.
We come in prayer seeking renewed sight to replace our spiritual blindness that our Lord Jesus was anointed to give.
We come in prayer seeking the favor and blessing that only comes from you.
We are “frail children of dust, and feeble as frail,” but “in Thee do we trust, nor find Thee to fail.”
Rather, we praise “Thy mercies how tender! How firm to the end!” For you are “our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend.” (Robert Grant)
