Continuing the legacy of John Nunnikhoven.

One of the signal contributions John Nunnikhoven made to The Fellowship of Ailbe was his focus on worship, and especially, worshiping with the Psalms. We want to keep that legacy alive and working in and through us, so we will be continuing John's "Call to Worship" column with contributions from various of our Brothers. We begin with a post-Easter prayer by one of John's closest friends in The Fellowship, Brother Rusty Rabon:

For the Second Sunday of Easter

Lord Jesus Christ, you are our risen and reigning King!

Discovering the empty tomb and learning of your resurrection filled your first faithful followers with awe and wonder. Your presence brought them peace and renewed hope and purpose (John 20:19-21). As you revealed yourself to your disciples, like the two on the road to Emmaus, great joy filled their hearts (Luke 24:31-32).

Sadly, for some it seemed too good to be true and too much to believe at first (John 20:25). And sadly today, there are many who choose not to believe that you are “the Messiah, the Son of God, and through believing have life" in your name (John 20:31).

May this day find your faithful followers sharing the abundant life and eternal hope found only in you with neighbors and friends and everyone they meet. And may there be many this day who place their faith once and for all in you – the One who came and died and rose again – and so know the peace and joy of forgiveness for sin, and the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.
