Our readings in this series are from the book, What in Heaven Is Jesus Doing on Earth? Jesus is orchestrating a worldwide war plan, and we are smack in the middle of it. Here’s a reading from pages 21 and 22:
Exalted high above us, Jesus rules
all spirits, sends His Holy Spirit to
indwell us, governs all creation through
His mighty Word, and daily tramples fools
beneath His feet, allowing them their due
according to their folly. Jesus shows
Himself to them, and everybody knows
Him from the things He’s made; and He will woo
them by His Spirit, Who restrains and slows
their wickedness, and strums the image of
the holy God within their souls. The Dove
of heaven strives with men; yet many close
their hearts to Him, and to the Savior’s love.
All such as yet resist His grace, the Lord
from heaven works, according to His Word,
that they should vaunt and serve themselves above
all other loyalties, until the sword
by which they hack their way through life, to make
a lasting mark, becomes the final stake
straight through their heart. Hoist on their own petard,
all who prefer their own ideas, and take
their cues and chart their course of living by
the spirits of this age, will surely die
in vain, still thirsting after hope to slake
their parched and burning souls. All who rely
on self, alone and lost forever lie.
