Our readings in this series are from the book, What in Heaven Is Jesus Doing on Earth? Yes, we’re all looking forward, even longing for, being able to see Jesus in glory. But why just wait, when we can see Him now? Here is a brief excerpt from pages 10 and 11:
And we long for this,
this everlasting glory, peace, and bliss.
Then all we think, and all we take in hand
to do, and all we long for will have this
in common: To adore, to celebrate,
to honor and extol, in matters great
and small, and all things hit or miss,
our Savior, King, and God. For He our fate,
our destination, our inheritance,
and prize of joy is; and there is no chance
that we should fail to reach this great estate,
because He keeps us ever in His glance
and purview, and He always intercedes
for us, providing daily for our needs,
and causing our poor sinful hearts to dance.
But is this all we know of what precedes
our dwelling with the Lord forever? Not
according to the Scriptures. We are taught
much more of His ongoing works and deeds
than just His intercession, and of what
we may expect when face to face we see
Him. And this is the question now that we
shall undertake to answer: How then ought
we think about our Lord and King as He
reigns on His throne? Just what in heaven is
our Savior doing on the earth in His
eternal glory, strength, and sovereignty?
And how should what He does affect us this
side of eternal glory, peace, and bliss?

- How might you expect to benefit from seeing Jesus in glory more clearly and consistently?
