Our readings in this series are from the book, What in Heaven Is Jesus Doing on Earth? Jesus has ascended into heaven and is seated at the Father’s right hand. Jesus reigns in glory, ruling all of heaven and earth by His Word of power. Is that important? Oh yeah. Here is a brief excerpt from the Foreword on page 4:
“Jesus reigns in glory, and the image of Him we may see there is true and powerful to increase our love for Him, transform us into His likeness, and fit us for more courageous and fruitful service in His Name.
“But what is Jesus doing there? Do we ever wonder? Is He merely biding His time, waiting for the signal to return in judgment and to gather His elect? He certainly is doing that. But He is doing more. And it is the burden of what follows to stretch thin the veil that separates this world from the next, and usher us into the Presence of the Lord, as He continues the ongoing work He began in the book of Acts, and has been carrying on for nearly two millennia now.”
