The New Normal

Our readings in this series are from the book, Revived! Here is a brief excerpt from page 9:

“The book of Acts abounds with spiritual energy and resounds with holy joy. It features people from every walk of life and stratum of society who are excited, courageous, generous, loving, and gossipy about Jesus, and who are undeterred by threats, violence, difficulties, or the allure of the world. Yes, of course there was opposition to this new phenomenon, but the opposition never had a chance of stopping it. People had found true meaning. They had entered a new experience of being-in-the-world that was wholly unlike anything they’d ever known. They became hungry for truth and eager to be wherever the Word of God was being taught. In a few short years, hundreds, perhaps thousands, of house churches comprised of multitudes of believers in scores of villages and towns and cities became a force for truth and goodness which, once established, soon began to flood the world with rivers of Living Water bearing new life, new hope, and new power to make all things new.

“If I were to subtitle the book Acts, I’d call it ‘The New Normal.’”

For a limited time, you can order Revived together with the previous book in our Read Moore series, The Church Captive, at no cost. Order copies for yourself and for a study group or companion. And you can download a free discussion guide for both books.
