1 Corinthians 10:31

John Nunnikhoven

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Here's that pesky “all” again. And not just a matter of how I feed my body, but whatever I do? Nothing reserved or excluded. Well, I understand church stuff, but my job? My family? My neighborhood? Look, there's that really nasty old coot that lives across the street and hollers at my kids. Isn't it my responsibility as a father to take their part and holler back at him? What do you mean that I ought to take him a plate of those cookies my wife baked? Yeah, I know You said that whatever I do, do it for Your Glory, but…?

Hmm, seems to be a principle here. If I can't do it for Your Glory, then I should not be doing it. OK, Got it, I need a regular reminder of 1Corinthians 10:12-13

Today's readings in the Psalms:

Morning: Psalm 103

Mid-day: 119:49-56

Evening: Psalm 29
