And when the prophet who had brought him back from the way heard of it, he said, "It is the man of God who disobeyed the word of the LORD; therefore the LORD has given him to the lion, which has torn him and killed him, according to the word that the LORD spoke to him."
Not much, the man of God simply had a little bread and cheese, a little glass of wine. After all, even though the LORD had told him not to eat or drink while on this mission, he met someone with a message, supposedly from the LORD that contradicted what he had been told. What could it hurt?
Just a bite of bread. Exactly the same as Moses who struck a rock rather than following the direction to speak to it.
Disobedience brings spiritual death. Ponder on Matthew 25:41-46
