You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
I, like Timothy, am commanded to pass the portfolio on to others and instruct them to teach. This is a command to be a faithful discipler, one who teaches carefully and correctly as he has been taught. It is not a command to convert sinners; it is a restatement of Matthew 28:19 to "make disciples as I go."
