Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity Psalms 6:8-9

John Nunnikhoven

Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity; For the LORD has heard the voice of my weeping. The LORD has heard my supplication; The LORD will receive my prayer.

Is this a form of worship? Absolutely! Those of us who are blessed with children have had the experience of one coming to us for help in fixing a toy or solving a homework problem. The experience often used to bring an Adrenalin rush. Used to? No still does even if my children are mature adults. The phone rings and a familiar voice says, “Dad, got a few minutes? I need some advice” The buttons are popping off my shirt.

How must the LORD feel when I get down on my knees and go to Him in prayer, “Heavenly Father, I need some advice” But one difference, the conversation with a child may open a debate; when I turn to my Heavenly Father, I better be ready to obey.
