Galatians 4:28-29

John Nunnikhoven

Merry Christmas to all as we join together to remember the incarnation of the Son of God as the Son of Man. Remember also that we begin that countdown to the Easter morning and the glorious shout "He is risen, He is risen indeed."

Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise. At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now.

Isn't this interesting? I have never considered the relationship between Esau and Issac as being a prophetic indication of the relationship between today's culture and the Church as.it counter-culturally should be. Is this a sign of the times as we continue to move into a post-Christendom world?

Today's readings in the Psalms:

Morning: Psalm 19

Mid-day: 119:73-80

Evening: Psalm 94
