But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit.
Is this a guide to identification of people who are not hearing and following the guidance of the Spirit? It may not be complete, but it indeed is a good guide. Someone who scoffs at the explicit directions of the Spirit; who consistently follows their passions rather than the Word's; fomenting arguments and division among the saints, and is more interested in the attractions of the world, rather than drawing closer to the LORD, God the Almighty.
