Matthew 6:28-29

John Nunnikhoven

And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

I remember passing a field of wild lupine in Maine, years ago. Vivid colors–blue, red, magenta. Intense! But when I read the various descriptions of the Throne Room, the words that come to mind are just that–intense, vivid, brilliant, perhaps overwhelming comes closest.

This is the way I am arrayed in the LORD, God the Almighty's eyes; as one of the bright filaments that displays His glory. What should I care about how the world sees me?

Today's readings in the Psalms:

Morning: Psalm 135

Mid-day: 119:41-48

Evening: Psalm 60
