Nehemiah 1:11

John Nunnikhoven

O Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants who delight to fear your name, and give success to your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.” Now I was cupbearer to the king.

Isn't this a beautiful phrase? "Servants who delight to fear your name." Oh, to be one who delights in the Fear of the LORD, God, the Almighty. Fright—yes indeed for it is a dreadful thing to fall into the hand of the living God (Hebrews 10:31) to wisdom—the Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Psalm 110:10) with many blessings in between. Righteousness, peace, joy, love, gentleness, goodness being a few for starters.

Today's readings in the Psalms:

Morning: Psalm 114

Mid-day: 119:129-136

Evening: Psalm 40
