Psalm 103:1-5

John Nunnikhoven

Psalm 103:1-5

Of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Yes, Lord, it is so easy to forget that You are the Great Provider of All Things. I sometimes remember the “big” blessings, but do I remember to thank you, remember to recognize Your hand in the everyday? No! I go about my day, oblivious to all the evidence of Your hand of provision on my life. I just enjoyed a few bites of a leftover from dinner; I consumed it without a thought of Your Goodness that caused this to be available to satisfy my hunger. When will I learn?
