Psalm 116:3-4
The snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me; I suffered distress and anguish. Then I called on the name of the LORD: “O LORD, I pray, deliver my soul!”
Why is it, Lord, that I have to be pushed to the edge before I call on Your name? I know in my mind and in my heart that You are there to deliver and will deliver, but I refuse to turn to You until all my ‘old man’ strivings fail. When will I learn?
