Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways.
"Turn your eyes upon Jesus,/ Look full in His wonderful face/ And the things of earth will grow strangely dim/ in the light of his glory and grace."
So true, Lord, yet sometimes so difficult. Satan waves a subtle flag of distractions before me, sometimes just with a promise of a few moments of relaxation or with the indulgence of a bit of grumbling about a problem I'm having. And there I go, lost my focus, forgot my purpose here, off on my own path and forgetting where life truly is.
Turn my eyes, Lord, full-on Your wonderful face. And teach me to keep them there!
