Save, O LORD, for the godly one is gone; for the faithful have vanished from among the children of man. Everyone utters lies to his neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart they speak.
Lord, I need Your protection for I am quick to believe those who flatter, feeding my ego and pleasing my ears. I need to learn, and only from You and Your wisdom can I learn, to separate the genuine from the fool’s gold and how to respond appropriately in each circumstance. When will I learn that humility and contrition are the only proper attitudes for one of Your chosen?
