Psalm 12:3-4
May the LORD cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that makes great boasts, those who say, “With our tongue we will prevail, our lips are with us; who is master over us?”
Lord, protect me from myself, protect me from that pride of knowledge, skill and accomplishment that makes great boasts, even if never voiced but does not acknowledge that You are the Lord and Master of my life. For You are not truly Lord and Master when I continue to be a rebellious and boastful servant.
