Psalm 13:1-2 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.
How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? (2) How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
Lord, as I struggle with the sins of the flesh, I often begin to believe that I am in this alone, “Where are You when I need You?” but You do not hide Your face from me; I am refusing to open the eyes of my heart and see Your goodness shining over me. The cry of the old man is “I can do it myself;” the cry of the new man is “Praise You, Lord Jesus, You have done it all.” When will I learn that totally, completely, and without reservation?
