Psalm 139:1-6

John Nunnikhoven

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. O LORD, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O LORD, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. (6) Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.

Lord, I am with David here. I know You know me entirely, every aspect of my life and being but I cannot fully comprehend the totality of Your knowledge. I know, I obey, I trust, but all in faith that You have promised and cannot lie or break Your promises. It all comes down to, “OK, Lord, I don't know how you are going to do this but You promised and I am proceeding on the basis of that promise.” You are truly and great and awesome God!
