Psalm 141:5 Let a righteous man strike me–it is a kindness; let him rebuke me–it is oil for my head; let my head not refuse it.

John Nunnikhoven

Psalm 141:5

Let a righteous man strike me–it is a kindness; let him rebuke me–it is oil for my head; let my head not refuse it. Yet my prayer is continually against their evil deeds.

Lord, keep me open to correction and to continuous guidance from You through one of Your own. Cleanse me from the need to justify myself and my actions, remove from me that self-defensive nature and install in me a willingness to accept that You have chosen a messenger to give me a needed word. Give me the grace to accept that guidance and to be thankful and bless Your servant. And to remember to thank You that You love me so much that You would send a righteous man to rebuke me.
