Of David.Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the LORD without wavering. Prove me, O LORD, and try me; test my heart and my mind. For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in your faithfulness.
LORD, as I sit here in the peace and quiet of my own home, it would be easy to agree with David and claim that I had been unwavering in my trust. Easy but a lie.
Prove me and try me, LORD, in the sense of searching for my faults and weaknesses. Teach me to keep my eyes on Your steadfast love and to walk in the cover of Your faithfulness.
