Psalms 46:1

John Nunnikhoven

To the choirmaster. Of the Sons of Korah. According to Alamoth. A Song. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

How often do I run around, tear my hair, fret and stew, when faced with a problem? Finally, when the problem has been escalated to a major crisis, finally then, I cry out to the Lord for help. Why cannot I bury the pride of the old man, remember that He is my refuge and strength, He is a very present help in times of trouble and turn to Him in prayer at the first hint of a challenge? As Dallas Willard often said, "Our practice is to do everything we can think of and then pray. We should pray and then do everything we can think of doing."

New motto, John. Pray and do! Repent when you do, do, do and finally pray!
