To the choirmaster. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. Clap your hands, all peoples! Shout to God with loud songs of joy! For the LORD, the Most High, is to be feared, a great king over all the earth.
Let's see here. I am to shout with loud songs of joy because I am to fear (terrified) of the LORD, the Most High. That makes absolutely no sense at all. Let's try this. I am to shout with loud songs of joy because I am filled with the awesomeness of His being. Indeed, my God is an Awesome God.
