Revelation 4:2-3, 11

John Nunnikhoven

At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne. And he who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald. … “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”

Lord, an exciting word painting of the Throne Room of Heaven, rendered by the one who was the disciple You loved. And like a magnificent Rembrandt, an interpretation of John’s vision, limited by a human’s language to express all the glories that his eyes behold. So, I , as I read these words seeking to absorb and integrate the vision, yet like John, am reduced to simply acknowledging Your worthiness to receive glory and honor and power for You are the One without beginning or end and the One whose word speaks all things into being. You are the LORD, God Almighty
