Romans 4:1-3

John Nunnikhoven

What then shall we say was gained by Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh? For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.”

Abraham believed God regarding what? Check out the story in Genesis 15:1-6 and the answer is? He believed the LORD, God, the Almighty's promise that his descendants would be as numerous as the stars in the sky. He accepted this completely, and his life began the process of transformation.
