The King of Glory

“The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory.” (Psalm 24:10, NKJV)

Politicians campaign on great promises, but no one has ever offered blessings like these. Those under God’s rule will receive access into His presence and a place in His kingdom. Through Him they receive clean hands and a pure heart and righteousness from the God of their salvation.

What sort of king can deliver on these promises?

Our eyes are lifted up and our gaze directed to the massive doors ready to swing open for His entrance. He is the King of glory poised to enter. Who is this King of glory? He is the LORD strong and mighty, mighty in battle. Who is this King of glory? “The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory” (Ps. 24:10).

This King of glory is none other than the living God Himself. Lord Sabaoth His name, from age to age the same; and He must win the battle.

In His train we are led as captives of His grace. “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing” (2 Cor. 2:14–15).

  1. What triumph is ours in Christ?
  2. What spoils of salvation have been lavished upon us?
