A PRAYER FOR LENT
February 24, 2024
John 15:1-8
Lord Jesus, the True Planting of our Father the Master Gardener,
What joy we have because you have made us your branches and called us to stay connected to you.
The nourishing nectar of the Holy Spirit flows from the Father through You to us as the source of fruitful life – life that yields peace and hope and love and joy that always grows.
We welcome the sometimes-painful pruning of the Father which makes our fruitfulness more abundant.
We never want to be fruitless branches that are useless to the Father and are cast away.
Jesus, we cling to you. We want to be containers and conduits of your love and grace.
We have no other master; our hearts are your throne. Our lives we give forever to live, O Christ, for you alone (Thomas Chisholm).
