A PRAYER FOR LENT
March 5, 2024
O holy and righteous Lord,
You are the God who does all things right.
You bring justice to those who are victims of injustice.
Lord Jesus, you came from the Father, anointed by the Holy Spirit, to announce that God’s kingdom and reign of justice had come.
You experienced being humiliated and treated unjustly and having your life taken away.
You show great tenderness and compassion to the oppressed as you bring righteousness and justice to bear in this world.
We hunger and thirst for justice to come to those who are taken advantage of.
We want to be people who live and advance the cause of justice and mercy and faith in this world.
Help us today, O Lord, to do what is good, to do the things that are right and merciful, and to live a humble life of obedience to you.
Amen.
