Evening Meditation
Deuteronomy 12.2-4
2 “You shall utterly destroy all the places where the nations which you shall dispossess served their gods, on the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree. 3 And you shall destroy their altars, break their sacred pillars, and burn their wooden images with fire; you shall cut down the carved images of their gods and destroy their names out of that place. 4 You shall not worship the LORDyour God withsuch things.”
Deuteronomy 12.29-31
29 “When the LORDyour God cuts off before you the nations which you go to dispossess, and you displace them and dwell in their land, 30 take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods? I will also may do likewise.’ 31 You shall not worship the LORDyour God in that way; for every abomination to the LORDwhich He hates they have done to their gods; for they even burn their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods.”
Pray for the lost people in your life – neighbors, friends, co-workers. Pray that they may escape the snares of the gods of this secular age. Pray that God will give you opportunities to reach out to them with the Good News of Jesus.
