Honor Others

The Law of God for Daily Meditation

Morning Meditation
Exodus 20.12

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land that the LORDyour God is giving you.”

What does it mean to “honor” someone? How should I “honor” my parents? Who else today should I be ready to honor, and what will that require of me?

Evening Meditation
Deuteronomy 5.16

“‘Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may be well with you in the land that the LORDyour God is giving you.’”

Thriving in God’s promises (symbolized by “the land”) requires that we honor those we should. Did I fail to honor someone today? Whom must I be ready to honor tomorrow?
